The Saudi jiu-jitsu team achieved an impressive feat at the World Championship held in Crete, Greece, from October 23 to November 4, bringing home a total of 10 medals. The team won 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals, marking a significant accomplishment on the global stage.
The gold medals were claimed by Mohammed Al-Mukhlis in the under-69 kg category (Masters Division), Omar Nada in the under-94 kg category (Senior Team Division), and Abdullah Nada in the under-85 kg category (Youth Division). These victories highlighted the strength and skill of the Saudi competitors across various age groups and divisions.

Silver medals were earned by Abdulmalik Al-Murdi in the under-62 kg category (Senior Team Division), Elias Banjar in the under-62 kg category (Youth Division), and Waleed Al-Haidari in the under-56 kg category (Youth Division). Their silver finishes showcased the depth of talent within the team and their dedication to excellence.
The bronze medals went to Osamah Al-Marwia in the "No Gi" category, Khaled Habab, who secured two bronze medals in both the under-52 kg and "No Gi - 52 kg" categories (Youth Division), and Hadeel Qadha in the under-57 kg category (Junior Division). These bronze wins added to the team's overall medal haul and underlined their consistent performance across multiple events.
Rakan Al-Fehaid, the chief executive of the Saudi Jiu-Jitsu Federation, praised the team’s achievements and credited the Kingdom's leadership for their ongoing support of sports federations. He highlighted the importance of the extensive preparation period and the collective effort of the athletes and coaches in achieving these remarkable results.
