Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the successful completion of its Ramadan 2025 initiatives, which supported 55,000 people through 20 community projects. These initiatives were designed to promote kindness, encourage volunteerism, and strengthen social bonds across the city. The activities took place at various locations, including RTA headquarters, metro stations, and marine transport stations, with the active participation of RTA employees and volunteers.

By organising these projects, RTA showed its commitment to giving back to the community and supporting sustainable social development. The initiatives also helped boost Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in charitable and volunteer work.

Supporting Various Groups in Need
The Ramadan initiatives aimed to help a diverse range of people, including:

People of determination (those with disabilities)

Orphans

Delivery bike riders and truck drivers

Public transport users

Low-income families

Workers in accommodations

The goal was to spread kindness and promote values of tolerance, cooperation, and teamwork – principles that RTA strongly believes in.

Meals and Gifts for Thousands
According to Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, the Ramadan initiatives were part of Dubai’s ‘Year of Community’, which promotes unity and compassion.

“RTA is committed to supporting meaningful community initiatives that reflect the vision of our leaders to promote social harmony and kindness. This year, we focused on providing direct support to the most vulnerable groups while also encouraging volunteerism and social responsibility,” Al Ali said.

He added that RTA carefully monitored its social activities by tracking the number of beneficiaries, volunteers, and volunteer hours to measure the true impact.

The Ramadan projects made a big difference:

Over 30,000 people received Iftar meals, thanks to a partnership with the Dubai Charity Association.

The Meals On Wheels initiative reached 15,500 people, offering meals to bus drivers, delivery bike riders, workers, and abra riders.

Around 5,000 metro users took part in activities held at metro stations.

The Ramadan Rations project, launched in honour of Zayed Humanitarian Day, helped low-income families by giving out 1,000 nol cards to support them during the holy month.

Promoting Volunteerism
The RTA also made an effort to encourage volunteering.
Over 350 volunteers from RTA’s different sectors took part, contributing more than 1,500 volunteer hours during Ramadan. Their dedication demonstrated RTA’s commitment to building a culture of giving and social unity.

Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations
As part of the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, RTA organised events at the Senior Citizens Council of the Community Development Authority. The celebrations included:

Cultural performances

Traditional games

Art workshops

During the Eid Joy initiative, RTA distributed Eid gifts to orphans, senior citizens, and people of determination at Etisalat Metro Station. The event also included gift distribution to workers, made possible through partnerships with:

Community Development Authority

  • Keolis-MHI
  • Dar Al Hay Tailoring
  • Twigs Flower House
  • Hind Al Oud
  • Khaltat
  • Toys "R" Us

Encouraging Reading with UAE Reads
To mark the end of its Ramadan initiatives, RTA organised special activities during the last week of Ramadan in line with UAE Reads.
RTA held interactive workshops for employees' children in collaboration with the Huawei Community. The workshops featured reading and writing sessions to promote literacy and the joy of reading. Children who participated also received copies of Salama Magazine as part of RTA’s support for national reading initiatives.

A Month of Giving and Unity
Through its Ramadan 2025 initiatives, RTA successfully demonstrated the power of kindness and community support. The projects made a real difference in the lives of thousands of people while promoting the values of generosity, compassion, and volunteerism.
