Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent trip to Nigeria has stirred up a whirlwind of controversy, primarily revolving around their mode of transportation within the country. Reports have surfaced alleging that the couple's internal flights during their three-day stay in Nigeria were provided free of charge by Air Peace, a major Nigerian airline owned by Dr. Allen Onyema. However, this arrangement has raised eyebrows, particularly due to the serious legal issues facing Onyema in the United States.
Dr. Allen Onyema, the owner of Air Peace, has been the subject of a US federal indictment since November 2019. He faces charges of bank fraud and money laundering, with accusations of illicitly moving over $20 million from Nigeria through US bank accounts. The allegations stem from a scheme involving falsified documents related to aircraft purchases.

Despite these allegations, a source close to Prince Harry has refuted claims that the couple deliberately chose to fly with Air Peace. According to the source, their travel arrangements within Nigeria were organized by the Nigerian Chief of Defense Staff, a high-ranking military official. Christopher Musa, Nigeria's top-ranking officer, reportedly extended the invitation to Harry and Meghan for their visit to the country.
Furthermore, the source emphasized that Air Peace is a prominent carrier with regular flights connecting Nigeria to London, suggesting that their choice of airline was pragmatic rather than contentious. However, critics argue that the association with a business owner facing serious legal charges raises ethical questions about the couple's decision-making.
Following their return to the United States, speculation surrounding the guest list for Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster's wedding, added another layer of intrigue. Despite their close relationship with Hugh, neither Harry nor Meghan were reportedly included in the list of attendees. Some experts speculate that Harry may have willingly declined the invitation to avoid overshadowing the joyous occasion with the ongoing rift within the royal family.
Meanwhile, Prince William is slated to play a significant role in the upcoming wedding, while King Charles and Kate Middleton are said to have politely declined the invitation due to their respective battles with cancer. The dynamics within the royal family continue to captivate public attention, with each event and decision scrutinized for its implications on the monarchy's future.
