Now, in the 2020s, peplum styles are once again taking over, as seen on stars like Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, and Elle Fanning. This trend has been re-emerging in recent years, with Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone previously rocking peplum gowns at the Academy Awards in 2022 and 2024.

Demi Moore made a bold statement in a custom strapless leather corset gown designed by Bottega Veneta. The dramatic dress featured a tiered pleated skirt, adding a striking effect to her red carpet-look. To complete the outfit, Moore accessorized with yellow gold and diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co.’s Jean Schlumberger collection. She paired her gown with elegant Christian Louboutin heels. Stylist Brad Goreski, known for working with celebrities like Ashley Park and Liv Tyler, put together her look for the night. Moore’s hair was styled in soft waves by hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, while makeup artist Rokael Lizama used Dior products to give her a radiant glow, complete with pink blush, a smokey eye, and bright inner corners.

Elle Fanning opted for a custom strapless gown by Loewe, featuring a satin skirt that added a graceful touch. Mikey Madison looked like a modern-day Cinderella in a custom pearl grey gown by Louis Vuitton. The strapless dress featured a structured bodice and a draped peplum skirt, adding a classic yet contemporary feel. Madison complemented her outfit with matching satin pumps from Louis Vuitton and dazzling diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co. Her look was put together by stylist Jamie Mizrahi, who also works with stars like Adele and Jennifer Lawrence. Hairstylist Rena Calhoun straightened Madison’s dark locks for a sleek look, while makeup artist Melissa Hernandez enhanced her beauty with black eyeliner, rosy blush, and a bold red lip.

Selena Gomez also embraced the peplum trend, elevating her outfit with black strappy sandals and silver jewelry. However, the real showstopper was her dazzling engagement ring, which stole the spotlight. Gomez chose a bold makeup look for the evening, enhancing her face with voluminous mascara, powdery pink blush, and cherry red lipstick. She styled her brunette hair in a neat bob. This isn’t the first time Gomez has gone for a timeless and sophisticated look at the SAG Awards.
