In the Lausanne Diamond League 2024, Neeraj Chopra delivered a standout performance, finishing second with a season-best throw of 89.49 meters. This mark surpassed his previous season best of 89.45 meters achieved at the Paris Olympics 2024 and is his second-best throw ever, just shy of his personal best of 89.94 meters from the Stockholm Diamond League in 2022.

During the event held on Friday, Chopra saved his best for last, producing his top throw in the sixth and final attempt. Despite his impressive throw, Grenada's Anderson Peters claimed first place with a remarkable meet record and season-best throw of 90.61 meters. Germany's Julian Weber secured third place with a throw of 87.08 meters.

Chopra’s earlier throws in Lausanne were 82.10 meters, 83.21 meters, 83.13 meters, 82.34 meters, and 85.58 meters. The consistency displayed throughout the competition was notable, though he fell just short of the coveted 90-meter mark.
