The movie has also done well in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, showing that people across the region like the film. In an interview, Mukundan, who also helped produce the movie, said, “These numbers are amazing and humbling. This shows that Malayalam movies can be popular all over the world if we dare to try new things.”
He also talked about how, in the entertainment world, actors and movies only get a lot of attention if they make a lot of money. He said, “Sadly, in this industry, a movie or an actor gets noticed only if they do well at the box office.”
Marco is getting a lot of attention for its violent revenge story. The film has some very strong and graphic scenes, such as cutting off hands, limbs, and eyes, and one very shocking scene where a baby is held over a pot of acid.
Mukundan said, “Some people love it, and some people don’t. But isn’t that what movies should do? Make people talk and think about them?”
He was also happy that director Ram Gopal Verma, who made famous violent films like Satya, praised his work. Mukundan said, “It feels good to hear a director like him praise the film.”
Even though the film is very violent, it has brought in big crowds, showing that people like action-packed and intense stories. Mukundan jokingly said, “You can call me a pan-Indian superstar if you want. In the last three weeks, I’ve started to feel like one.” He added, “These labels show how much effort and risk we put into our work.”
The movie continues to do well at the box office, and Mukundan’s daring choices in acting are changing how people see Malayalam cinema worldwide. He even said, “We are planning to release Marco in South Korea. I want to take this film to all parts of the world.”
The success of Marco is a big achievement in Mukundan’s career. It shows that trying something new and taking risks in films can bring huge success.
