Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved the formation of the Board of Directors for the ‘Young Arab Leaders’ initiative. The board includes 11 prominent Arab figures from diverse fields, tasked with steering the initiative toward its goals. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that these leaders will play a crucial role in driving projects, expanding membership, and attracting exceptional Arab talent, enabling the youth to shape the future of their societies.

The Young Arab Leaders initiative, launched 20 years ago, embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It reflects his belief in the transformative power of Arab youth to shape the region’s future and preserve its cultural heritage. He described youth as the Arab world’s most valuable asset, stressing the importance of equipping them with skills and opportunities to unlock their potential. Their active involvement, he noted, is essential for fostering growth, stability, and progress across the region.

The initiative aims to provide young Arabs with skill development programs and opportunities to showcase their talents, empowering them to innovate and succeed in various fields. The newly formed Board of Directors will guide these efforts under the leadership of His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation. Other board members include Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa (Bahrain), Dr. Tamam Menko (Jordan), Fahad AlGhanim (Kuwait), Aïssata Lam (Mauritania), Ibrahim Mohtaseb (Saudi Arabia), Mona Ataya (Palestine), Basil El-Baz (Egypt), Yazen Altimimi (Iraq), Nasser Al-Khater (Qatar), and Sami Daud (Oman). Fatma Rashid Bujsaim has been appointed as Secretary-General.

Looking ahead, the initiative plans to attract 50,000 participants and implement various projects designed to inspire and empower Arab youth. By creating a network of influential business leaders and experts, it aims to mentor young talents and foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. Through its efforts, the initiative aspires to empower future generations to contribute meaningfully to the development of Arab societies and secure a brighter future for the region.
