The Awards and Categories

Dubai Police received three important awards at the IACP event. These included one individual award and two institutional awards.

1. 40 Under 40 Award

Major Abdullah Al Shehhi, the Director of the Cybercrime Investigation Department, won the 40 Under 40 Award. This award recognises young leaders who make a big impact in their field. Major Al Shehhi was honoured for his leadership in fighting cybercrime. His achievements include leading major international cases, joining global discussions on cybercrime, and using advanced technology to help prevent online crime. His efforts have shown his strong leadership and commitment to justice.

2. IACP/SIA Michael Shanahan Leadership in Public/Private Cooperation Award

The second award recognised Dubai Police for its "On-the-Go" initiative. This is a program where Dubai Police worked with fuel service providers to give people police services without needing to visit a police station. Some of the services available through this program are:

  • Reporting minor traffic accidents
  • Reporting accidents that are unknown
  • Getting help with vehicle repairs
  • Lost and found services
  • "Police Eye" for reporting incidents
  • Cybercrime reports

This initiative makes police services quicker and easier, showing Dubai Police's leadership in working together with businesses to benefit the public.

3. IACP Leadership in Volunteer Police Service Programs Award

The third award recognised Dubai Police for its Volunteer Platform. This program, together with the Positive Spirit Council led by Ms. Fatima Buhjair, encourages people to volunteer. Over the past five years, this program has logged over 1.2 million volunteer hours from both police officers and the public. The platform promotes good values like tolerance and teamwork and encourages people to take part in sports and cultural activities. It also teaches young people about the importance of positive values and ethics, helping to shape them into responsible citizens.

Dubai Police’s Commitment to Excellence

Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli said these awards were possible because of the guidance and vision of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He explained that Dubai Police’s focus on using the best practices and new technology has helped them to improve public safety and law enforcement. Dubai Police continues to make a difference, both in Dubai and around the world.

These awards show how committed Dubai Police is to staying ahead in the field of law enforcement and continue leading the way with innovation and excellence.
