Dubai Police has been honoured with three prestigious awards at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Awards 2024. The awards were given out at the IACP annual conference in the United States, celebrating Dubai Police's outstanding work in law enforcement.
Recognition for Innovation
His Excellency Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering, shared his pride in receiving the awards. He said the awards show Dubai Police's strong commitment to innovation and progress in improving security services. He added that Dubai Police is leading in the use of new technology to keep up with the fast changes in the world. This recognition also highlights the dedication of the Dubai Police teams, helping to further strengthen its reputation as a trusted security agency both locally and internationally.

The Awards and Categories
Dubai Police received three important awards at the IACP event. These included one individual award and two institutional awards.
1. 40 Under 40 Award
Major Abdullah Al Shehhi, the Director of the Cybercrime Investigation Department, won the 40 Under 40 Award. This award recognises young leaders who make a big impact in their field. Major Al Shehhi was honoured for his leadership in fighting cybercrime. His achievements include leading major international cases, joining global discussions on cybercrime, and using advanced technology to help prevent online crime. His efforts have shown his strong leadership and commitment to justice.
2. IACP/SIA Michael Shanahan Leadership in Public/Private Cooperation Award
The second award recognised Dubai Police for its "On-the-Go" initiative. This is a program where Dubai Police worked with fuel service providers to give people police services without needing to visit a police station. Some of the services available through this program are:

3. IACP Leadership in Volunteer Police Service Programs Award
The third award recognised Dubai Police for its Volunteer Platform. This program, together with the Positive Spirit Council led by Ms. Fatima Buhjair, encourages people to volunteer. Over the past five years, this program has logged over 1.2 million volunteer hours from both police officers and the public. The platform promotes good values like tolerance and teamwork and encourages people to take part in sports and cultural activities. It also teaches young people about the importance of positive values and ethics, helping to shape them into responsible citizens.
Dubai Police’s Commitment to Excellence
Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli said these awards were possible because of the guidance and vision of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He explained that Dubai Police’s focus on using the best practices and new technology has helped them to improve public safety and law enforcement. Dubai Police continues to make a difference, both in Dubai and around the world.
