Dubai’s airline, Emirates, is getting ready for a very busy travel time during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. Many people will be flying in and out of Dubai. The airline expects large crowds at the airport, especially on weekends before and during the holiday.
The busiest days at Terminal 3 will be March 28 and 29, and April 5 and 6. On these days, more than 80,000 people are expected to travel each day for spring break and holiday trips. Due to the heavy crowd, Emirates has asked travellers to leave extra time for their journey to the airport. There may be traffic near Terminal 3 entrances, which could cause delays.

To make travel easy, Emirates has shared some tips for passengers. Travellers should reach the airport at least three hours before their flight. This will give them enough time to pass through security and passport checks without rushing. Emirates has also reminded passengers to check their boarding times carefully to avoid missing their flight.
Passengers can check in online through the Emirates website or app. Online check-in opens 48 hours before the flight. This allows people to complete check-in from home or their hotel.
Emirates offers many check-in choices. Travellers can visit the Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai’s DIFC area. This service is open from 24 to 4 hours before the flight. However, it is not available for people flying to the US.
For more comfort, Emirates offers a home check-in service. With this option, travellers can complete check-in from their house or hotel. The airline will collect their bags and issue their boarding pass.
At Terminal 3, there are check-in kiosks, baggage drop counters, and mobile check-in stations. These help make the process faster and reduce waiting time.
Travellers from the northern Emirates can check in at the Ajman Central Bus Terminal. This service is open from 24 to 4 hours before their flight.
Passengers can also drop off their bags the night before their flight without any extra cost. They can check in early and leave their luggage at the airport up to 24 hours before their flight. For US flights, they can do this 12 hours before. This allows them to go straight to immigration or the Smart Tunnel on the day of their travel, making the process quicker.
For boarding, Emirates says passengers should clear passport control and security at least 90 minutes before the flight. People flying in Premium Economy and Economy Class should be at the gate 60 minutes before take-off. First and Business Class travellers should be at the gate 45 minutes before departure.
The boarding gates will close 20 minutes before the flight. Emirates warned that if passengers arrive late, they will not be allowed to board.
The airline will strictly follow its check-in and gate closing times to avoid flight delays and keep everything running on schedule.
