The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has announced a significant milestone with Emaar Charity Foundation’s contributions to the ‘Jood’ platform reaching over AED 35 million through 2023 and 2024. This generous support highlights the foundation’s commitment to community development and its role in advancing social support initiatives. A large portion of these funds has been allocated to the ‘Bayti’ initiative, aimed at providing permanent housing to low-income individuals, which plays a crucial part in strengthening family stability.
The ‘Jood’ platform, a central hub for Dubai’s humanitarian and charitable efforts, allows companies, business leaders, and individuals to contribute to a wide range of social projects. It fosters community development by providing a structured way to support initiatives that align with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, ensuring that contributions make a lasting impact on society. Through this platform, those who give can track the tangible results of their donations, particularly in sectors like health, education, housing, and social care.
Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, commended the continued commitment of leading Dubai institutions to social development. She highlighted that Emaar Charity Foundation has become one of the platform's main supporters, playing a pivotal role in the success of community projects. "The Jood platform brings together entities eager to make a positive difference, offering them a chance to address key areas of need and witness the direct outcomes of their contributions," she said.

Emaar, as a key contributor to the ‘Jood’ platform, has made a significant impact on the ‘Bayti’ initiative. Over the past two years, the foundation’s support has helped 60 Emirati families move into permanent housing, providing them with greater stability. This support has been instrumental in helping families transition from temporary accommodations to secure, long-term homes, significantly improving their quality of life.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Chairman of the Emaar Charity Foundation and CEO of Emaar Properties, emphasized that the foundation’s commitment goes beyond financial contributions. "We believe in building a cohesive, sustainable society, and our involvement in the ‘Bayti’ initiative through the ‘Jood’ platform reflects our dedication to providing opportunities and enhancing the stability of deserving families. The private sector's role should extend beyond business—it should uplift the community, improve living standards, and support human development. Our partnership with the CDA is a crucial step towards achieving these goals, and we will continue to support initiatives that empower individuals and families," he said.
The ‘Bayti’ initiative has been recognized for its groundbreaking work in social welfare, recently receiving the prestigious ‘Pioneering Project in the Field of Social Work for Private Institutions’ award at a ceremony in Doha. This recognition highlights the significant contributions of the Emaar Charity Foundation and its unwavering commitment to social responsibility. The award underscores the foundation’s efforts to create sustainable solutions for low-income Emirati families, particularly those who require additional financial support to complete or furnish their homes.
The ‘Bayti’ initiative directly supports those who have received housing grants but are struggling to complete the building or furnishing of their homes. This assistance alleviates the financial strain on families, allowing them to transition from temporary housing into permanent homes, ultimately improving their stability and quality of life.
The ‘Jood’ platform continues to be a driving force in community contributions, engaging a wide range of partners from diverse sectors. It is an accredited and reliable channel for contributing to sustainable projects focused on health, education, and social support, ensuring that donations are used effectively and transparently. The platform also promotes collaboration between various authorities, strengthening Dubai’s social sector and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Strategic partnerships have been key to the success of the ‘Bayti’ initiative. The initiative has received significant support from institutions such as the CDA, Dubai Police, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment. These partnerships have enabled the initiative to reach its goals, supporting families in need and contributing to a more stable and prosperous community.
