The formal signing ceremony took place at the Etihad Museum, a venue symbolic of the UAE’s history and achievements, underscoring the importance of the collaboration. The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, and His Excellency Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director General of MBRSC. Also present at the event were key officials from both organizations, including Muna Faisal Al Gurg, CEO of the Culture & Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture, Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts & Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, Hazzaa AlMansoori, the first Emirati astronaut, and various other officials.

The MoU between Dubai Culture and MBRSC is a strategic step towards advancing Dubai’s cultural and scientific landscapes. It reflects a mutual commitment to fostering educational and cultural initiatives that span the fields of creativity, science, technology, engineering, and the arts. The partnership will emphasize the sharing of institutional knowledge and resources, creating opportunities for both organizations to benefit from each other’s expertise.

A major goal of this agreement is to engage stakeholders across various sectors, particularly artists, designers, and creatives working within the local cultural landscape. By encouraging cross-sector collaboration, the partnership aims to bridge the gap between the creative industries and scientific advancements, highlighting the potential for artistic expression in fields like space exploration.

The MoU also outlines plans for a wide range of joint activities, including exhibitions, events, and public talks. These initiatives will help Dubai Culture strengthen its ties with creatives and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. At the same time, the partnership will provide MBRSC with opportunities to expand its outreach through cultural platforms, further promoting its programmes and events.

The agreement supports both organizations' alignment with Dubai’s long-term strategic priorities, particularly those related to the development of the cultural and creative industries. Through this collaboration, Dubai Culture aims to further its mission of fostering a thriving cultural scene that inspires innovation and reflects the city’s role as a global hub for creativity.

Commenting on the partnership, H.E. Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, expressed her pride in the UAE’s rapid progress in the field of space exploration. She noted that this advancement is the result of the nation’s visionary leadership and dedication to nurturing national talent. Badri highlighted that the collaboration with MBRSC represents a critical step in enriching Dubai’s local creative scene and promoting the integration of science and culture.

“Our partnership with MBRSC is a key milestone in Dubai Culture’s efforts to foster an innovative platform for knowledge exchange. This collaboration will allow us to further enhance the expertise of local talent, particularly in the fields of science and the arts. By incorporating space exploration into artistic expression, we hope to inspire new ideas and promote a spirit of innovation among creatives across Dubai,” Badri said.

On the scientific front, H.E. Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director General of MBRSC, emphasized the importance of this partnership in fostering cultural and intellectual dialogue within the UAE. He noted that the MoU provides a unique opportunity to integrate art and science, creating a platform for joint projects that will stimulate creativity and spark interest in space exploration among the younger generation.

“We are excited to partner with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. This collaboration is a vital step toward enriching the community’s engagement with both art and science. Through our joint efforts, we will create interactive educational platforms that enhance scientific literacy and understanding while fostering a deep appreciation for research and innovation. These initiatives will also strengthen cooperation between educational institutions and research centres, ensuring the continued development of national talent,” AlMarri said.

AlMarri also emphasized that the MoU’s initiatives are designed to prepare the next generation for future challenges by equipping them with the skills needed to contribute to the UAE’s evolving space programme. Through this partnership, both organizations aim to pave the way for an era of enhanced cooperation between the scientific and cultural sectors, reflecting Dubai’s ambition to be at the forefront of innovation and creativity on a global scale.

Looking ahead, the partnership between Dubai Culture and MBRSC will focus on creating a robust framework for collaboration. The two entities will work closely to organize events that merge the worlds of art and science, such as exhibitions showcasing artistic interpretations of space exploration and educational talks aimed at inspiring young minds to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

The MoU also outlines plans for both organizations to work with local and international partners, fostering a network of institutions that support creativity and scientific discovery. This initiative will play a key role in driving innovation across various sectors and enhancing Dubai’s global reputation as a leader in both cultural and technological advancement.

In conclusion, the partnership between Dubai Culture and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre represents a bold new chapter in Dubai’s journey towards becoming a global hub for creativity, knowledge, and innovation. By bridging the gap between art and science, this collaboration will inspire a new generation of thinkers, artists, and innovators, contributing to the UAE’s broader vision for the future.
