Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi earns UN Tourism-QUEST Certification

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has received the UN Tourism-QUEST certificate. This award is given to organizations that do a great job in managing tourism and culture. DCT Abu Dhabi scored 99.6%, setting a new high standard for both Culture and Tourism worldwide.

The certificate was given to His Excellency Saeed Ali Al Fazari, Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at DCT Abu Dhabi, by Natalia Bayona, the UN Tourism Executive Director, at the World Travel Market in London.

The UN Tourism-QUEST certificate is given to organizations that show good leadership, planning, and management. It also focuses on promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

This award shows that DCT Abu Dhabi is dedicated to growing tourism while also protecting the culture and history of the region. It shows how DCT Abu Dhabi is helping the economy grow and keeping culture safe for future generations, while providing amazing experiences for visitors from around the world.

His Excellency Saeed Ali Al Fazari said, “We are proud to receive this certificate. It shows our hard work to make Abu Dhabi a top travel destination and follow the best global standards. This achievement is also a result of the efforts of all our teams. It gives us a strong base for future growth and encourages us to keep improving and staying competitive in the tourism industry.”

The certification took one year to complete. During this time, DCT Abu Dhabi was checked against 22 standards and 126 indicators. The process included audits, site visits, and interviews with staff to make sure the organization meets the highest international standards.

This certificate is a big step for DCT Abu Dhabi. It shows their commitment to improving tourism while following the values of sustainability and accessibility set by the United Nations.
