China warns citizens after 2 caught fighting in Ukraine

China told its people to stay away from places where fighting is happening. This comes after two Chinese men were caught in Ukraine, fighting for the Russian army.

Ukraine said its soldiers found the two men in the Donetsk area, where big battles are going on. A video was shared showing one of the men in army clothes with his hands tied. He made sounds like gunfire and spoke a few words in Chinese. He was talking to a Ukrainian officer, but the officer was not seen in the video.

A top Ukraine officer said these men were caught a few days ago. The officer also said there might be more Chinese people like them. He added that the men were not sent by China, but maybe joined the Russian army by signing a deal.

The President of Ukraine said there is proof that more Chinese men are helping Russian soldiers. But China said this is not true and called it a wrong claim.

A Chinese speaker said that the government is checking the facts with Ukraine. He also said China always tells its people not to go to dangerous places or take part in any fighting.

China says it is not helping either side in the war. It wants both countries to stop fighting and talk to solve the problem. But China is a close friend of Russia in trade and politics.

Some Western countries have blamed China for not speaking against the war. They say China is helping Russia by staying quiet. But China says it is only trying to help bring peace.
