Baidu to Launch Apollo Go Self-Driving Taxis in Dubai

Post by: Raman Preet

Chinese technology company Baidu is finally bringing its self-driving taxi service, Apollo Go, to the United Arab Emirates. The company had given hints about this expansion last year, but now it has made it official by signing an agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Apollo Go is a ride-hailing service that uses self-driving cars, meaning there will be no human driver in the vehicle. This service has already been tested in China, and now Baidu is preparing to introduce it in Dubai.

The agreement between Baidu and the RTA is called a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This type of agreement is an important step before a company can officially launch its services in a new country.

With this partnership, Dubai continues to move forward in becoming a smart and modern city. The introduction of self-driving taxis could make transportation more advanced and efficient for residents and visitors. While the exact date of the launch is not yet announced, this agreement is a major step toward bringing driverless taxis to Dubai’s roads.
