In the latest development, foreign travellers intending to visit Ayodhya during Ram Navami will face stringent measures aimed at ensuring public health and safety. Following directives from local authorities, all foreign visitors must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon arrival. This precautionary step is part of proactive efforts by the Ayodhya district administration to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission, especially considering the ongoing pandemic situation abroad.
To accommodate foreign visitors during their quarantine period, the Ayodhya district administration has established dedicated quarantine wards within hospitals. These specialised facilities offer suitable accommodation and medical care for individuals undergoing quarantine, underscoring a commitment to safeguarding health amid the global health crisis.

Dr. Arun Prakash Shrivastava, Chief Medical Superintendent of the Ayodhya district hospital, detailed the preparations made to handle potential COVID-19 cases. He explained, "In anticipation of the Ram Navami festivities and the influx of foreign visitors, we have arranged four specialised quarantine wards within the district hospital. Foreign visitors showing Covid-19 symptoms or considered at risk will be promptly isolated and provided with necessary medical attention."
Additionally, concerns have arisen regarding COVID-19 testing procedures for foreign visitors. Dr. Shrivastava clarified, "While specific instructions on testing procedures for incoming travellers are pending, we remain vigilant and prepared to implement testing protocols as required."
Ram Navami, a significant religious festival marking the birth of Lord Ram, holds profound importance in Ayodhya, particularly following the inauguration of the Ram Temple last year. In anticipation of the upcoming festivities, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced special arrangements. These include providing new attire for the deity's idol daily during the festival period. Crafted from hand-woven khadi cotton and adorned with real gold block prints inspired by Vaishnav motifs, these garments reflect the cultural richness and devotion associated with the occasion.
Moreover, acknowledging the potential for large crowds during the nine-day festival, the trust has stressed the importance of adhering to safety guidelines. Visitors are urged to exercise caution and refrain from carrying cell phones inside temple premises to minimise overcrowding and ensure a safe and serene environment for all devotees.
