The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), along with the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, has expanded the Sanadkom service to help all residents of the emirate. This service, which helps families after someone dies, is now available to everyone in Abu Dhabi.

Sanadkom makes things easier for families by helping with tasks like getting a death certificate, arranging the burial, and, if needed, preparing the deceased for travel. The goal is to help families focus on their grief, not paperwork.
After a death notice is given, the Sanadkom team reaches out to the family, offering their help and explaining the services they can use. The team assists with all the necessary documents and sends a message to the family to tell them what they can do next.
To help even more, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an will cover the costs of things like getting a death certificate, ambulance transportation, embalming, and sending the deceased back to their home country. These services are free for residents of Abu Dhabi.
Her Excellency Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Customer Experience and Relations Sector at DoH, said, “We want to offer the best service to everyone in the community. The Sanadkom service makes things easier for families during a sad time. We are happy to offer this service to all residents of Abu Dhabi.”
His Excellency Saeed Al Mulla, Executive Director of the Customer Experience Sector at the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, added, “This service shows how we want to make life easier for people. We hope it will help families by simplifying government processes during difficult times.”
Through the Sanadkom service, families can complete the necessary tasks directly at healthcare centers where the death happened. The doctor will help by filling out the forms and getting the necessary permits, with the family’s permission.
The service brings together help from seven government organizations, including DoH, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF), Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC).
Since it started in January 2024, the Sanadkom service has already helped families of deceased UAE citizens complete required steps. It was first made for UAE Nationals, but now it is available to all residents, making it easier for them to get death certificates and other needed documents.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is proud to offer this important service to all residents of Abu Dhabi, helping families during their toughest times.
