The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF) has announced that the new pension rules will start on December 1, 2024. There will be no further changes to the pension rules. The pension changes will happen step by step, as planned in the new Pension Law that was introduced in November 2023.
The Fund explained that, under the new law, the number of years needed to retire and the retirement age will increase slowly for each member. This will happen every year by six months until the retirement conditions are fully met.

For the second year, early retirement will be allowed for members who are at least 45 years and six months old and have worked for 25 years. The gradual change only applies to members who were registered before December 1, 2023. New members hired after this date will follow the new pension rules announced last year.
The ADPF also encouraged all members to use its online services on the TAMM platform. The platform shows members their expected retirement age and the date they will be eligible for pension. It also calculates how many years of service are needed for retirement based on each person’s situation.
The digital services also include tools like the pension calculator and end-of-service gratuity calculator. These tools will help members find out how much pension they will get. Members can also see how much it would cost to add previous service time to their pension. These services help members stay informed and make better decisions for their future.
His Excellency Khalaf Abdullah Rahma Al Hammadi, Director General of ADPF, said that the Fund is carefully applying the new pension rules. The goal is to make sure the pension system stays strong and that all members’ rights are protected.
Al Hammadi said, "We want to provide clear solutions that help members understand the new pension rules. Our services make it easy for them to get information about their pension, so they can make smart choices for a secure financial future."
