The 16th edition of the Al Dhafra Maritime Festival is currently taking place along the coast of Al Mugheira in the Al Dhafra Region. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, the festival runs until February 23, 2025, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the deep-rooted maritime traditions of the UAE.

This annual festival is more than just an event—it is a celebration of the country’s seafaring past. Through various competitions, activities, and cultural showcases, it aims to preserve and promote the UAE’s rich maritime heritage. One of the major attractions of this year’s festival is the traditional market, where visitors can explore and purchase a wide range of Emirati products. The market not only supports local artisans but also provides a glimpse into the craftsmanship that has been an essential part of Emirati culture for centuries.

Another key feature is the Noukhatha House, an exhibit that tells the story of the UAE’s maritime history, highlighting the role of pearl diving, fishing, and boat-building in shaping the nation. Meanwhile, the Craftswomen Corner gives visitors a chance to see skilled artisans at work, creating beautiful handcrafted items using traditional techniques.

The Al Dhafra Maritime Festival welcomes visitors of all ages, making it a perfect event for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone eager to learn about the UAE’s proud maritime heritage. With a combination of thrilling competitions, cultural exhibits, and interactive experiences, the festival offers something for everyone while keeping the traditions of the past alive for future generations.
