His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, has issued a Federal Decree appointing two key figures to lead the UAE Aid Agency. Dr. Tareq Ahmed Mohamed Al Ameri has been named the Chairman, while Sultan Mohamed Saeed Al Shamsi will serve as Vice Chairman.

Dr. Al Ameri currently serves as the Director of the Office of Development Affairs at the Presidential Court. With a strong academic and professional background, he has held many important roles. These include being the Executive Director at the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and working with the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and the Ministry of Interior.
Dr. Al Ameri holds a Ph.D. in Process Systems Engineering from Imperial College London. He also has an MBA from Abu Dhabi University and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Process Systems Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, USA.
On the other hand, Sultan Al Shamsi brings over 30 years of experience in foreign aid and humanitarian work. He has worked in several key positions, including as the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and Assistant Undersecretary for Development Affairs at the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development. He also served as Executive Director of the UAE Office for the Coordination of Foreign Aid.
Al Shamsi has played an important role in shaping the UAE’s foreign aid strategy. He was involved in creating important organizations like the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development and the UAE’s Office for Coordination of Foreign Aid. He also helped draft the nation’s first foreign aid policy and strategy.
Al Shamsi holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Information Systems from the University of Southern Queensland and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from UAE University.
The UAE Aid Agency is responsible for overseeing and carrying out the country’s foreign aid programs. This includes planning, supervising, and executing government support, as well as handling developmental projects, early recovery efforts, and humanitarian relief work.
