The event took place in different emirates and had over 10,000 athletes from clubs and academies all over the UAE. It gave athletes a chance to show their skills, learn more, and compete against others.
Clubs and academies were excited to bring their best athletes to try and earn points, win medals, and cash prizes. They aimed to be the champions of the first edition.
His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said he was proud of how well the first edition went. He said, "We are proud of the success of the first edition of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which carries a name dear to us all. This success was possible because of the strong support we get from our leaders for sports and athletes, especially jiu-jitsu."
He also mentioned that the championship helped find and grow talent while promoting jiu-jitsu as a sport that teaches discipline, patience, resilience, courage, and teamwork. "We are happy that it has inspired young people, helped showcase talent, and made the UAE known as a global leader in jiu-jitsu. We are sure that the second edition will make the sport grow even more," he added.
The event also helped get more people involved in sports, building a generation that is strong both mentally and physically. The large number of families coming to support their children shows how important the event has become. It has grown into a big event, mixing sports with cultural activities, exhibitions, and entertainment for everyone.
