Jeff Baena, Writer-Director and Aubrey Plaza's Husband, Dies at 47

It is with deep sorrow that the shocking death of Jeff Baena, best known for directing The Little Hours and Life After Beth. He was discovered dead in home in Los Angeles at the age of forty-seven.

The medical examiner's files highlighted his death cause as 'deferred,' meaning it is currently being explored further. Thus far, however, several clues regarding the cause of death are absent, making it difficult to narrow down the prospect on the reason for his untimely death.

Following his work in the 2004 cult classic film, I Heart Huckabees, Jeff's career trajectory took off. Eventually, the ‘Joshi’ writer made his mark in the film industry after he directed the 2016 dramedy— featuring Thomas Middleditch in lead role.

During the course of Jeff’s career, he worked alongside Aubrey Plaza, but later, got married. Starting from 2014 horror-comedy Life After Beth and 2017 comedy The Little Hours, all the way to the 2021 series - Cinema Toast, Jeff successfully created his mark in the industry. He even collaborated with Alison Brie at several points. Most recently, Jeff directed the drama Horse Girl and movies that starred actors Alison Brie and Thomas Middleditch in lead roles.

Baena and Plaza wed in 2021 at a low-key but lavish wedding after being together for about ten years since 2011. He is survived by his wife, parents, step-parents, and some of his siblings.

His fans and family are heartbroken by his demise and they are paying tribute to him by doing so.
