Zayed Higher Organization Celebrates Stars of Emirati Series 'Ashhafan'

Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) recently celebrated the cast of the beloved Emirati series *Ashhafan*, marking the legacy of the classic show with a new theatrical adaptation titled *Ashhafan Family*. This three-day performance took place at the Ahmed Mangoush Theatre within the Organisation’s headquarters and featured a cast that included talented actors from the People of Determination, all supported by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and Akkasa Media Production.

Almost half a century after the original series first aired in 1976, this adaptation aims to reconnect audiences with the cherished characters that have become a part of Gulf drama heritage. The production not only pays homage to the show's historical significance but also emphasizes the ongoing relevance of its themes in contemporary society.

Foundation officials underscored the importance of this recognition, highlighting how art can foster social cohesion and reflect human values. They reiterated the vital role of People of Determination in the arts, viewing the adaptation as an inclusive and creative platform that empowers individuals and promotes diversity.

Members of the original *Ashhafan* cast expressed their gratitude for this honor, acknowledging the profound impact the series has had on the cultural landscape of the region. They extended their thanks to Zayed Higher for its ongoing efforts to empower People of Determination across various sectors.

Key figures at the event included Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Foundation; Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector; and Nafea Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Support Services, who attended alongside actors and family members of the late cast members.

Directed by Mohammed Saeed and written by Abdullah Saleh, *Ashhafan Family* features a blend of original cast members and emerging talents, including Sultan Al Siyabi, Ghaya Said, Muzna Ahmed, and Mariam Hamdan. The narrative focuses on the challenges that Gulf families face today, particularly the influence of social media on family dynamics, all while celebrating Emirati cultural heritage.

Through this initiative, Zayed Higher Organisation reinforces its commitment to integrating People of Determination into the arts, promoting independence, creativity, and social inclusion. The Organisation's Talented Determination initiative, launched in Abu Dhabi, continues to nurture artistic talent across various disciplines, aiming for global recognition and enriching cultural diversity within the community.
