Al Tayer emphasized that WGES is a leading platform for advancing the global green economy, solidifying the UAE's pioneering role in climate action. This year’s summit provided a platform for discussions on policies and strategies that balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. It also helped set the foundation for COP29 in Azerbaijan, building on the successes of COP28, which was hosted by the UAE in 2023.

The summit further showcased the UAE’s progress in clean energy, with goals to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. HE Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber highlighted that climate action presents the largest economic opportunity since the Industrial Revolution. The UAE’s National Hydrogen Strategy and its efforts to decarbonize infrastructure and energy sectors are key to this transition, according to HE Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei. Leaders emphasized that the green economy offers promising opportunities for innovation and sustainable development.

HE Reem Al Hashimy and HE Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in the global shift to a sustainable green economy, with Expo City Dubai setting an example of balanced development.
