Four people have died after the United States carried out attacks in Yemen’s Hodeidah region. These attacks targeted Houthi forces. At the same time, the US announced it would send another aircraft carrier and more fighter jets to the Middle East.

Anees Alasbahi, a spokesperson for the Houthi health minister, said that three people were confirmed dead after the US attack on Tuesday night. However, he added that the number could rise.

“The attack by the US hit a water management building in al-Mansouriyah district in Hodeidah on Tuesday. Three people died, and two others were injured. Most of them were employees,” Alasbahi said.

Later, reports stated that the death toll had increased to four. Some local news sources also said that US attacks hit the Hajjah region in the northwest and Saada in the north.

The US has not yet confirmed whether it carried out these strikes. However, multiple attacks were reported on the Saada and Sanaa regions on Monday night. There were no reports of casualties from those attacks. Since the US started its military operations against the Houthis on March 15, more than 60 people have died.

These US strikes began after Houthi forces threatened to restart attacks on Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea. They did this in response to Israel breaking a ceasefire in Gaza.

US Sends More Military Forces to the Middle East

The US is increasing its military presence in the Middle East. The Pentagon said on Tuesday that it will keep one aircraft carrier in the Red Sea and send another one from the Asia Pacific region.

The USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier will join the USS Harry S. Truman in the Middle East. The Pentagon also announced that the US would send more military aircraft.

“The United States and its allies are committed to keeping the region safe. We are ready to respond to any group or country that tries to expand the conflict,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

Houthis Claim Attacks on US Military Ships

On Tuesday, Houthi forces claimed they had launched cruise missiles and drones at US ships that are part of the Truman aircraft carrier group. According to them, this was the third attack on US military ships in the past 24 hours.

Although the Pentagon has not confirmed details about the aircraft being sent to the region, some US officials told Reuters that at least four B-2 bombers have been moved to Diego Garcia. This is a US-British military base on an island in the Indian Ocean. Experts say that Diego Garcia is close enough to strike Yemen and Iran.

US military officials have not disclosed how many B-2 bombers have arrived there. The Strategic Command, which controls these bombers, said it does not comment on its operations.

US President’s Warning to Houthis and Iran

US President Donald Trump has said that attacks on Houthi forces will continue until they stop being a threat to shipping in the Red Sea.

Trump also increased his threats toward Iran. On Sunday, he warned that there would be bombing if Iran does not agree to a deal with the US on its nuclear program.

In response, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that the US would face a strong reaction if it attacks Iran.

Amirali Hajizadeh, the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard’s aerospace division, also sent a message to the US. He said that American military bases in the Middle East are within Iran’s reach.

“They live in a glass house. They should not throw stones,” he warned.

The Tehran Times also reported that Iran has prepared missiles that can strike US-related positions if Trump follows through on his threats.
