UNS Vertical Farms Launches Educational Farm Tours in Dubai to Promote Sustainable Farming
13 November 2024; Dubai, UAE – UNS Vertical Farms, part of the Speedex Group and a leader in vertical farming in the UAE since 2018, is excited to announce the launch of its new Farm Tours. This initiative is designed to teach the community about sustainable farming and help people in Dubai learn more about the benefits of growing food in an eco-friendly way.

The Farm Tours will be open to a wide range of groups, including students, children, college groups, and local community members. During these 1-hour tours, participants will explore different crop sections at the farm and discover how local, vertical farming helps reduce environmental harm while also ensuring food security. Visitors will then enter the growing chambers, where plants are nurtured in specially controlled environments. They will learn about different crops, such as microgreens, fresh salads, and edible flowers, and understand how these crops are grown without soil, using hydroponic systems.

The tour will also cover topics like soil mixes, plant life cycles, and the methods used to harvest and package food in a way that reduces waste. At the end of the tour, visitors will receive a special take-home grow kit, encouraging them to try growing their own plants at home and become more involved in sustainable food practices.
