On the occasion of UAE Education Day, observed annually on 28 February, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, reaffirmed that education remains the nation’s most valuable asset and the foundation of its future.
He stated that UAE Education Day is not just a date on the calendar, but a reminder of the country’s strong commitment to building educated generations. He emphasized that the establishment of the UAE, its remarkable progress over the decades, and its future development are all rooted in education.
His Highness said the UAE has developed a world-class education system that brings together global talent, experienced educators, and advanced infrastructure. This system is supported by a positive learning environment that strengthens the country’s global competitiveness across all stages of education.
He highlighted that education in the UAE is a continuous journey that serves every segment of society and extends throughout life. According to him, education is the foundation of national development and a key driver of sustainable progress.
Sheikh Mohammed also referred to the National Charter for Education, which provides a unified national framework for the sector. The charter strengthens coordination between institutions and ensures that curricula reflect the UAE’s identity and national values. This approach aims to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to the nation and society.
He further stressed the importance of producing entrepreneurs, scientists, and innovators, rather than graduates defined only by certificates. He called on teachers and partners in the education sector to recognize that the future of the UAE begins in classrooms, shaped daily by knowledge and values.
