Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has lauded the UAE leadership's unwavering dedication to supporting women and bolstering their roles as leaders and decision-makers. She underscored the crucial role that harnessing women's capabilities plays in enhancing the UAE's competitiveness and fostering creativity and innovation across various sectors.

In her statement, Sheikha Manal highlighted the recent appointment of Mouza Mohammed Al Suwaidi as the Secretary-General of the UAE Gender Balance Council. This appointment, sanctioned by the UAE Cabinet and chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reflects the leadership's commitment to supporting Emirati women and investing in the development of national human resources. Sheikha Manal expressed confidence that Al Suwaidi's diverse experience in both public and private sectors will bring new value to the council and help build upon its existing achievements. She extended her best wishes to Al Suwaidi in her new role.
Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, also commented on the council's new structure. She noted that it will unite talented Emiratis from various fields to advance gender balance initiatives, thereby enhancing the UAE’s position in international rankings. Al Marri emphasized that, under the leadership of Sheikha Manal and in collaboration with federal and local partners, the council is entering a transformative phase. This phase aims to reinforce gender balance across sectors and contribute to sustainable economic growth and social development, aligning with the UAE leadership’s vision for progress.
Mouza Al Suwaidi, in her acceptance of the new role, expressed profound gratitude to the UAE leadership for the trust placed in her. She affirmed her commitment to advancing the nation’s vision of empowering women to contribute significantly to national progress and improving the UAE’s global stature. "I am honored by the trust placed in me and will dedicate myself to fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, guided by our leadership’s forward-looking vision and inspirational direction. I look forward to working closely with the members of the Council and leveraging their extensive expertise to drive continued progress in gender balance," Al Suwaidi stated.
She also extended her thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Manal for her exceptional efforts in supporting women, establishing gender balance as a fundamental cultural norm across the nation, and for her pioneering initiatives aimed at achieving greater regional and global successes.
Mouza Al Suwaidi brings over 20 years of extensive experience in both the public and private sectors to her new role. Her previous positions include serving as Head of Community Engagement at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, Executive Director of Shared Services at the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, and roles in procurement at Emirates Global Aluminium, one of the world’s largest producers of high-quality aluminum. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in the USA and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences from the Higher Colleges of Technology.
