Telugu singer Kalpana Raghavendar has reportedly been hospitalized after a suspected suicide attempt. She was found unconscious at her home in Hyderabad and is currently receiving treatment.

Kalpana Raghavendar Found Unconscious at Home

According to a report by Telugu newspaper Eenadu, Kalpana, the daughter of well-known singer TS Raghavendra, was discovered unconscious inside her house in Nizampet, Hyderabad.

The security staff at her apartment complex became concerned after noticing that her house had remained locked for two days. Unable to reach her, they informed the resident’s association, who then attempted to contact Kalpana. When she did not respond, they reached out to her husband, who was in Chennai at the time. However, he too was unable to establish contact with her.

Realizing something was wrong, the association members alerted the police. The authorities broke down the door and found Kalpana in an unconscious state. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Kalpana’s Health Condition

Kalpana is currently on ventilator support, her husband confirmed to Eenadu. A report by Telugu Cinema stated that while she remains under observation, her condition is stable. Several of her industry colleagues, including singer Sunitha, visited her at the hospital. However, they chose not to speak to the media about the situation.

Did Kalpana Attempt Suicide?

According to a report by Filmi Beat, Kalpana allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills. Industry tracker Harish Kumar was cited in the report stating that she had been facing personal struggles. The report also mentioned that Kalpana was going through a divorce and had been raising her three children alone. These circumstances may have contributed to her emotional distress.

Kalpana Raghavendar is a well-known playback singer and reality show judge. She gained national recognition after winning the reality show Star Singer in 2010. She began her musical journey at the young age of five and has worked with legendary composers like MS Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, KV Mahadevan, SP Balasubrahmanyam, and KS Chithra.

Apart from singing, Kalpana has also served as a judge on multiple music reality shows and even participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, which was hosted by Jr NTR. Some of her recent songs, such as Kodi Parakura Kaalam, Penne Neeyum, and Thirupachi Arivaala, have been well received by audiences.
