The 11th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), is bolstering its international presence through strategic partnerships with leading global organizations. These collaborations aim to enhance government communication practices and foster innovation on a global scale.

The SGCA has joined forces with Apolitical, a prominent global platform supporting governments in policy development and implementation. Together, they will present the 'Best Innovation in Government Communication' award, recognizing institutions that leverage technology and citizen engagement to enhance public service delivery.

In partnership with the Chief Sustainability Officers Network (CSO Network), the SGCA will honor the 'Best Communication Practices for Dealing with Developmental Changes.' This award acknowledges initiatives promoting sustainable development and environmental awareness, crucial for addressing global challenges.

UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research), with technical support from UN DESA (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs), collaborates with the SGCA to introduce the 'Best Innovative and Resilient Communication Initiatives' award. This category highlights government projects demonstrating resilience and innovation in response to global economic, environmental, and institutional challenges.

HE Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB, emphasized the SGCA's role as an international platform for excellence in government communication. She highlighted the partnerships' significance in promoting global cooperation, sharing best practices, and advancing communication strategies that contribute to sustainable development.

The awards aim to celebrate outstanding achievements in government communication worldwide, encouraging cross-border collaboration and the exchange of expertise. They underscore the importance of adaptive communication strategies in navigating complex global dynamics and fostering public trust and engagement.

Marco Suazo, Director of UNITAR New York, underscored the alignment of the awards with the United Nations Public Service Award standards. He praised the SGCA for recognizing resilient communication initiatives that drive positive change and contribute to global progress.
