Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is facing a fresh death threat allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding a ransom of ₹5 crore to "end the enmity." This alarming message was conveyed via WhatsApp and was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police, intensifying concerns for the actor's safety.
The message warned that if the payment is not made, Khan's fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, who was recently murdered, purportedly by members of the Bishnoi gang. The threatening message stated, "Don't take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not given, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddiqui's."
In response to the threat, the Mumbai Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the message. Authorities have also heightened security measures around Khan's residence in Bandra. The actor has been on high alert due to previous threats, and this latest incident has further escalated fears regarding his safety.
Just yesterday, the Navi Mumbai Police arrested a key suspect linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrested individual, identified as Sukha, alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh, was apprehended in Haryana's Panipat and is connected to an alleged plot to assassinate Khan. Reports indicate that Singh had contracted other gang members to carry out the attack on the actor.

Police sources revealed that Singh had been in direct communication with a handler named Dogar, who is believed to be based in Pakistan. They were allegedly coordinating a planned attack on Khan, intending to use high-powered firearms such as AK-47s, M16s, and AK-92s smuggled from Pakistan for the operation.
Singh's arrest marks a significant development in the broader investigation into the Bishnoi gang's conspiracy against Khan. Earlier this year, Navi Mumbai police registered an FIR against 18 individuals from the gang for plotting to kill the actor, following a troubling incident where gang members fired shots outside Khan's residence.
The police have uncovered disturbing details regarding the gang's activities, including the deployment of 60 to 70 operatives to monitor Khan's movements. These operatives conducted reconnaissance at various locations, including Khan's residence in Bandra, his farmhouse in Panvel, and his shooting locations. Disturbingly, the gang even attempted to recruit minors to serve as sharpshooters.
This is not the first time Khan has been targeted by death threats associated with the Bishnoi gang. In 2022, a letter threatening the actor was found on a bench near his residence. Additionally, in March 2023, he received an email allegedly sent by gang members. Earlier this year, two unidentified individuals attempted to breach Khan's Panvel farmhouse using fake identities, prompting the actor to enhance security around his property.
The animosity between Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi dates back several years. Bishnoi, currently incarcerated, has reportedly held a grudge against the actor due to his alleged involvement in a 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which is particularly significant to the Bishnoi community, as they revere the blackbuck. This incident is the primary motivation behind the gang's desire for revenge against the Bollywood star.
