Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is launching a new intercity bus service called Route E308, which will connect Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. This new service will start on May 2, 2025. The fare for a one-way trip will be AED 12.
Adel Shakeri, the Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA's Public Transport Agency, said that this service is part of RTA’s effort to grow the public bus network and make it easier for people to travel. The goal is to connect buses with other types of transport like the metro, tram, and boats, so passengers can easily switch between them. This will help make public transport the first choice for people traveling around the city.

Along with the new Route E308, RTA will also be making some changes to existing bus routes starting May 2, 2025. These changes will make the bus rides smoother, quicker, and more comfortable for passengers. Here are the main updates:
Route 17: This route will now end at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route 24: This route will be changed to serve the Al Nahda 1 area.
Route 44: This route will now go to Dubai Festival City instead of Al Rebat Street.
Route 56: This route will be extended to reach DWC Staff Village.
Routes 66 & 67: These routes will now have a new stop at Al Ruwayah Farm area.

Route E16: This route will now end at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route F12: The section of Route F12 between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park will no longer be serviced. Instead, the route will now go through Kuwait Street.
Route F27: The bus stop for this route has been moved from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
Route F47: This route will be changed to serve the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
Route F54: This route will be extended to serve the new JAFZA South labor camp.

These changes are being made to make it easier for people to travel around and to improve the public transport experience in Dubai and Sharjah.
