While Sheeran was singing his famous song *Shape of You*, a policeman walked up and unplugged his microphone. People watching were angry and booed as Sheeran packed his guitar and left.
The police later said they stopped the performance because it was on Church Street, which is always very crowded. Officer Shekar T. Tekkannanavar said the organisers did not have permission for the event, so they had to stop it.
Sheeran, who started his music career by singing on the streets in the UK, later wrote on Instagram that his team had permission to perform. He told fans not to worry and that everything was fine.
Even though the street show was stopped, Sheeran gave a big concert later that night. Thousands of fans came to see him, and Indian singer Shilpa Rao also joined him on stage. The audience enjoyed the concert, making it a night to remember in Bengaluru.
