Mother Kills 3-Year-Old Daughter to Move in with Lover, Inspired by Crime Patrol

In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, police have made a significant breakthrough in the case involving the death of a three-year-old girl, Misti, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase. The investigation has led authorities to the child's mother, Kajal, who has been arrested in connection with the crime.

Kajal, who had been involved in an extramarital affair, confessed to the police that she had planned to leave her husband for her boyfriend. However, her boyfriend was unwilling to accept her daughter into their new life. In a tragic turn of events, Kajal decided to kill her daughter to facilitate her move.

According to the police, Kajal admitted that she slit her daughter's throat with a knife, placed the body into a red trolley suitcase, and abandoned it in a bush near their home. She revealed that her decision to commit the murder was influenced by episodes of the TV show "Crime Patrol," from which she derived the idea of disposing of the body in a suitcase.

The grisly discovery of Misti's body on Saturday shocked the local community and prompted an extensive investigation by a Special Investigation Team. Forensic experts found blood traces in the family's home, including on the floor, in the sink, and on the terrace, which helped in linking Kajal to the crime.

Kajal had previously told her husband, Manoj, that she was visiting her aunt on the day of the incident. After her disappearance, Manoj filed a police report, which led to Kajal being located at her boyfriend’s residence. During questioning, Kajal’s confession implicated her alone in the murder. The police have stated that there is no evidence suggesting her boyfriend's involvement in the crime.

The police have also recovered the murder weapon and are continuing their investigation. The case has drawn significant media attention, particularly due to Kajal’s claim that her actions were inspired by a television crime show, raising questions about the influence of media on such heinous acts.
