Henry and Payne started dating in 2019, and got engaged, but their relationship ended in 2022. While their love began strong, Henry says Payne’s addiction took over their relationship. In her book *Looking Forward*, Henry wrote about an abusive relationship that is a lot like what she went through. People close to Henry say the book is based on real things that happened in her life.
Just weeks before Payne died, Henry said he was bothering her, contacting her and her family with fake accounts. She also took legal action, sending a warning letter after he shared private photos of her without permission. After he passed away, she found even more cases of him invading her privacy, and now she is taking more legal steps.
Henry talks honestly about how difficult it was to love someone with addiction. She tried to fix Payne, ignoring warning signs and putting her own health last. She says that even though she loved him a lot, she had to leave him to protect herself, knowing addiction was something she couldn’t change.
Henry also hints that Payne had personal problems beyond his addiction that he couldn’t deal with, even while they were together. She says she realized, sadly, that her love could not change him, and by staying, she was losing herself.
Even after Payne’s death, Henry still faces the hurt caused by his actions. She is trying to heal from the past and new things she learned about his behavior. She talks about the difficulty of grieving someone she once loved, while also dealing with the damage they caused. Despite the pain, she believes walking away was the right choice for her.
