The National Reference Laboratory (NRL), part of the M42 Group, is starting the first special center in the Middle East and North Africa for early brain sickness checks. This new center is being made with help from Neurocode International, a well-known group that works on brain health tests. The goal is to help find brain problems like Alzheimer’s early, so people can get help sooner.

This new center was shared with the public during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week. It will be built in Abu Dhabi and will help many people in the UAE and other nearby countries. It also hopes to make brain health better all over the world.

Alzheimer’s is a serious sickness that harms the brain. It makes people forget things and can make daily life hard. In 2021, more than 57 million people had Alzheimer’s. Most people with memory loss problems have this sickness. The number of people getting it is going up every year. Finding Alzheimer’s early is very important. It helps slow down the sickness. But the old way of checking for it uses a long needle in the back, which many people don’t want. Because of this, it’s hard to find the sickness early.

This new center wants to change that. It will use a simple blood test to check people for Alzheimer’s. People can get this test starting at the age of 40. This way, the sickness can be found early, and people can start treatment quickly. This will help them live better lives.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, the main boss of M42, said that this center is a big step forward. He said, “This place will help us find Alzheimer’s early. It shows how much we care about keeping people healthy before they get sick. We want to make life better for people in the UAE and other places.”

This new center also wants to be the best place in the world for testing brain sickness. It will help doctors around the world learn how to find these sicknesses early. The center will also write and share its work with doctors and scientists, so everyone can learn and give better care.

Dr. Laila AbdelWareth, the boss of NRL, said, “This center will help fight Alzheimer’s and other brain sicknesses. Working with Neurocode International, we will make testing better and faster. This means people will know sooner if they are sick, and they can get help quickly.”

The center will also have smart people doing research all the time. There will be a full-time brain doctor who knows a lot about memory problems. Two famous professors, Henrik Zetterberg and Kaj Blennow, who are experts in Alzheimer’s, will also help the center by giving advice from far away.

Dr. Hans Frykman, the boss of Neurocode International, said, “We are happy to work with NRL. Together, we will build the best brain testing place in the world. Our team knows a lot and will help doctors in the Middle East and other countries to find Alzheimer’s and other brain problems early.”

This new center is the first of its kind in the region. It will help change how we deal with brain sickness. By finding problems early, the center hopes to help people live longer and healthier.
