Dubai: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has cancelled all flights to Dubai until March 28 due to the ongoing conflict and security concerns in the Middle East.
The airline said the decision was taken mainly for safety reasons, stressing that the protection of passengers and crew remains its top priority.
Passengers who have already booked tickets for the affected flights will be contacted by the airline. They will be given the option to rebook their flights free of charge or request a full refund through the airline’s My Trip service.
In a statement, KLM said it understands the inconvenience caused to travellers and is working to keep all passengers informed about changes to their travel plans.
The airline also confirmed that flights to Riyadh and Dammam will not operate until and including March 12 due to the same security concerns in the region.
KLM said it is closely monitoring the situation and remains in contact with relevant authorities regarding developments in the Middle East.
The airline added that passengers will be informed immediately once there is any update about the resumption of flights.
KLM also stated that it is available to help with the repatriation of stranded travellers in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
