Ahead of his keynote address on the third night of the Democratic National Convention, US presidential candidate Kamala Harris reached out to her running mate, Tim Walz, with words of encouragement. Sharing a video of the call on X, Harris told Walz, "The stage is yours, Tim Walz. Enjoy the moment."

In the video, Harris, clad in a navy pantsuit, begins the call with a warm greeting, "Hi, Tim. It's Kamala. How are you feeling?" She reassured Walz, saying, "You're going to be fantastic tonight. So good." Her supportive words aimed to bolster Walz’s confidence before his significant address.

Walz, visibly enthusiastic, responded, "I am excited. Thanks for the opportunity. It's going to be electric in there and the messages this week are so great. So, I'll go down there and deliver a freedom speech." He expressed his anticipation for the event and the impactful messages conveyed throughout the convention.

Harris offered final advice, encouraging Walz to "just feel the love in the room" as he prepared to speak to the gathered audience. She added, "We've been seeing it everywhere we go. Enjoy the moment, it’s a special night for you." The conversation ended on a light-hearted note with both sharing a hearty laugh as Walz humorously noted that "Minnesotans will be pretty jazzed up."

Taking the stage later that evening, Walz formally accepted his nomination for vice president of the United States. In his keynote address, delivered at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, he expressed his profound gratitude and patriotism, stating, "It's the honor of my life to accept your nomination for vice president of the United States. What all we're all here tonight for, one beautiful, simple reason, is that we love this country."

Walz, a former teacher and National Guard soldier, shared his personal journey and outlined his vision for the future in his speech.
