On Friday, US President Joe Biden made a Casual joke about traveling to space to rescue astronaut Sunita Williams and her NASA colleague, Barry Willmore. The two astronauts have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June due to issues with their spacecraft, Starliner. The mission was supposed to last only eight days, but it has been delayed for months because of issues like space debris, leaks, and other problems with the spacecraft.
Biden made the joke during a meeting with Peru's President, Dina Boluarte, about space programs between the US and Peru. He laughed and pointed to NASA leader Bill Nelson and said, "That guy right there is a very close friend of mine. Each time. my wife thinks I’m being too much, she says she will call him and send me to space." Biden joked further, saying, "I’m a little worried he might want to send me to space because we need to bring some people home."

Williams and Willmore arrived at the ISS on June 6. They were only supposed to stay for eight days, but because of spacecraft problems, they stayed much longer. NASA said it’s too dangerous to bring them back right now in the broken capsule. They are expected to come back to Earth in February next year.
There were also rumors that Williams was losing weight after some photos of her looking thin in space went viral. But Williams set the record straight in a video shared by NASA. She said her weight hasn’t changed. “I think my body has changed A small amount, but my weight is the same. There are rumors that I’m losing weight, but no, I’m the same weight I was when I got here,” she said.
The problem with the Starliner spacecraft shows how difficult space missions can be. Even with the delays and issues, NASA is doing everything it can to bring the astronauts back safely.
