IPL 2025: Disha Patani's performance cut short, fans upset

Actor Disha Patani gave an exciting performance at the IPL 2025 opening ceremony in Kolkata, impressing the audience with her energetic and lively stage presence. However, her performance was cut short on TV. The broadcasters suddenly switched to commentary about the upcoming match instead of showing her entire performance. This made many fans angry and disappointed.

People on social media were not happy and shared their frustration. Many fans were upset that they didn’t get to see Disha's full performance. One user wrote, "Can someone send me her full performance?" Another user joked, "Disha Patani was fine until Jio Hotstar remembered their relatives might be watching. They stopped the broadcast suddenly." Some fans felt Disha should be treated like famous American actress Sydney Sweeney, and said, "They cut her performance because it was too hot!"

Other social media users expressed their anger by commenting, "Why did @JioHotstar cut off #DishaPatani's performance midway? So disappointing." Another said, "The broadcasters switched to commentary when Disha was dancing. Men: It's cheating!" One more person wondered, "Did someone from the IPL committee ask the producer not to show Disha’s skimpy dress?"

After Disha’s solo dance, she joined singer Karan Aujla on stage for another performance. Singer Shreya Ghoshal also performed during the ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who danced to his popular song "Lut Put Gaya" with cricketer Rinku Singh.

The opening match will be between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This season will feature 10 teams: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
