Finland’s consumer prices increased in February after a slight decline in January, according to data released by Statistics Finland on Friday.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6 percent year-on-year in February, marking the highest inflation rate since January 2025, when prices had increased 0.7 percent. This reversed the 0.2 percent drop recorded in January.
The rise in February was mainly driven by a 9.5 percent surge in utility costs, which pushed overall prices higher.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 1.1 percent, bouncing back from a 0.2 percent decline in January.
This data indicates a rebound in inflation in Finland, largely due to rising energy and utility expenses impacting household budgets.
