Emirates has once again claimed the title of ‘Best Airline in the World’ at the prestigious ULTRAs 2024 Awards, reinforcing its status as a leader in the aviation industry. The airline’s recognition comes after being praised by thousands of global travelers for its exceptional products, innovative services, and outstanding value-for-money experiences. This accolade is just one of over 20 awards Emirates has earned this year, with notable honors including ‘World Best Airline’ by *Telegraph Travel*, where the airline ranked first among 90 global carriers, and ‘Best Airline’ at The Times and Sunday Times Travel Awards.

The ULTRAs are among the most respected awards in the travel industry, recognizing excellence in multiple categories. Winners are chosen based on votes from a global network of active and affluent travelers. Ultratravel, an independent magazine, has a global circulation of 1.2 million active travelers, making these awards a significant testament to the airline’s standing in the global travel market.
Emirates Senior Vice President Commercial Operations in Europe and the Americas, Thierry Aucoc, and Emirates Divisional Vice President in the UK, Jabr Al-Azeeby, were present at the award ceremony, held at Kensington Palace in London, to accept the award. The event gathered leading figures from the travel industry and other prominent guests.
Emirates’ President, Sir Tim Clark, expressed pride in the airline's achievement, stating, “We’re delighted to be recognised as ‘Best Airline in the World’ by the prestigious ULTRAs. Our investments in product and services, in our people, training and technology, all aim to elevate the travel experience at every step of the journey so our customers truly ‘fly better’. We’ll always work hard to raise the bar for them.” Clark highlighted the airline’s ongoing multi-billion-dollar refurbishment program, which will see over 200 aircraft receive fully refreshed interiors, further elevating the Emirates experience for travelers worldwide.
In line with its commitment to enhancing travel experiences, Emirates continues to invest heavily in innovative products and cutting-edge technologies. Last year, as part of its US$ 4 billion retrofit program, Emirates rolled out eight fully refurbished aircraft, including three A380s and five Boeing 777s. Additionally, the airline opened new premium lounges in London Stansted and Jeddah and refurbished its lounge at Paris Charles De Gaulle. The opening of experiential travel stores in cities like Hong Kong, London, and Paris also reflects the airline’s focus on offering an elevated travel experience.
Emirates has also significantly expanded its network. The airline resumed services to Phnom Penh in Cambodia via Singapore and launched new routes to Bogotá via Miami and Madagascar via the Seychelles. Its growing network helped the airline achieve its best-ever half-year financial results, carrying 26.9 million passengers across more than 148 destinations between April and September 2024.
The airline’s accolades continue with the 2025 APEX World Class Airline award, recognizing Emirates for delivering outstanding customer service and the highest global standards in safety, sustainability, and guest experience. In addition, at the Forbes Travel Guide’s Air Travel Awards, Emirates took home five awards, including ‘Best International Airline,’ ‘Best Culinary Programme,’ and ‘Best First Class.’ The airline also won the ‘Best In-Flight Cocktail Lounge’ award for its A380 Onboard Lounge and the ‘Best International Airline Lounge’ for its First Class Lounge at Dubai International.
Emirates operates the world’s largest fleet of wide-body Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, featuring spacious cabins and iconic inflight amenities like the A380 Shower Spa and Onboard Lounge. Passengers also enjoy the warm hospitality of the airline’s multinational crew, gourmet regional cuisine, and the award-winning ice inflight entertainment system, which offers up to 6,500 channels of movies, TV shows, and podcasts. Recently, the airline’s inflight entertainment was recognized as ‘Best Inflight Entertainment’ at the Business Traveller Awards 2024. Additionally, Emirates has partnered with Spotify to offer an extensive selection of podcasts and playlists for passengers to enjoy while in the air.
Emirates remains at the forefront of air travel innovation, continuously improving its services to ensure passengers have a world-class experience. To learn more or to book tickets, passengers can visit emirates.com or use the Emirates app, retail stores, contact centers, or travel agents.
