The much-anticipated romantic drama, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, will premiere on Netflix on December 16, 2025. Following its theatrical release on October 21 during the Diwali weekend, the film quickly captured the attention of audiences, becoming the 12th highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, despite mixed critical reviews. This streaming debut is likely to introduce this gripping tale of toxic love to an even wider audience, particularly those fascinated by the intricacies of complex relationships.
Directed by Milap Zaveri and co-written by Mushtaq Shiekh, the story exposes the darker aspects of love, illustrating how obsession can overpower genuine emotion. It focuses on themes of possessiveness, emotional trauma, and the dire repercussions of unchecked passion. The film takes a stark look at love, portraying it not as idealized but as potentially destructive when fueled by entitlement.
The narrative follows Vikramaditya Bhonsle, portrayed by Harshvardhan Rane, a powerful politician whose infatuation with the glamorous actress Adaa Randhawa, played by Sonam Bajwa, escalates after her rejection. What starts as fervent pursuit devolves into a disturbing fixation, intensified by his privilege and wounded pride. As Vikramaditya’s obsession deepens, Adaa finds herself in peril, compelled to resort to drastic measures for her safety. Set against the backdrop of political influence and emotional manipulation, this film presents a raw depiction of toxic love, illustrating how obsession can morph into a harmful weapon.
Produced by Anshul Rajendra Garg and Dinesh Jain under the Desi Movies Factory umbrella, the film boasts cinematography by Nigam Bomzan and a score by John Stewart Eduri, with contributions from Ariyan Mehedi. The supporting cast, including Rajesh Khera, Sachin Khedekar, Shaad Randhawa, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, deliver gripping performances that amplify the emotional depth and tension within the story.
As its Netflix release approaches, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is poised to ignite discussions surrounding toxic masculinity, celebrity harassment, and the perilous glamorization of obsession, ensuring it remains a talking point for the season.
