In a concerning incident early Tuesday morning, two school buses collided on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), one of the UAE’s busiest highways. The crash has left 13 students and one teacher injured, sparking fresh concerns over school transport safety and traffic discipline.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred during peak school commuting hours and involved two buses from private educational institutions operating in the Northern Emirates. Emergency teams, including Dubai Police and paramedics, were dispatched immediately to the scene.
13 students sustained moderate injuries, primarily bruises and minor fractures.
1 teacher reportedly suffered whiplash and was transported for observation.
All injured individuals were taken to Al Qassimi Hospital and nearby facilities for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that no fatalities occurred.
The incident took place in the Al Khawaneej section of E311, a zone known for heavy morning traffic. Preliminary findings suggest that poor lane discipline and driver negligence may have been contributing factors.
The Ministry of Education and RTA have been alerted. A joint investigation has been launched, with the possibility of:
