The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai has renewed its humanitarian initiative, ‘Bus of Goodness’, during Ramadan in partnership with Beit Al Khair Society and Dubai Charity Association. The program highlights Dubai’s commitment to social solidarity and community responsibility.
As part of the initiative, teams of employees and volunteers distribute Iftar meals across areas with a high number of workers, including Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Dubai Investment Park (DIP), and Muhaisnah. This year, 135,000 Iftar meals have been successfully provided, spreading happiness and promoting community cohesion.
Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, said the initiative reflects the Directorate’s dedication to supporting the workforce and recognizing their vital contributions to Dubai’s development. He added that Ramadan is a special time to strengthen generosity and compassion.
Abideen Taher Al Awadhi, Director General of Beit Al Khair Society, praised the partnership, noting that the initiative complements their annual ‘Iftar Saem’ project. He emphasized that the program reinforces solidarity, social cohesion, and the UAE’s values of generosity and hospitality.
Ahmed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Dubai Charity Association, highlighted the collaboration as an example of institutionalized giving. He said the initiative ensures humanitarian support reaches those in need efficiently and with dignity, showcasing Dubai as a global leader in humanitarian compassion.
The ‘Bus of Goodness’ initiative demonstrates Dubai’s ongoing commitment to charitable work, fostering a culture of giving and reinforcing the values of compassion and community support during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
