Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is excited to announce the launch of its summer camps, which will be held across various cultural and historical sites throughout July and August. These camps are designed to broaden the horizons of young participants, encouraging them to discover their talents and enhance their innovative spirit. This initiative is part of Dubai Culture's commitment to investing in future generations and fostering a sustainable creative ecosystem.
The camps will take place at three key locations: Al Shindagha Museum, Etihad Museum, and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. These sessions are scheduled over two weeks, from July 15 to 19 and July 22 to 26, offering a variety of activities and events. Participants will have the chance to delve into the past, explore Emirati heritage, and learn about the country’s history and its founding story.

At the Al Shindagha Museum summer camp, children will immerse themselves in ancestral tales, discovering how early Emiratis innovated wind towers to combat the desert climate. The camp includes a walk through the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood, where participants will learn about its unique architectural designs. Activities also emphasize the importance of teamwork, including traditional water transportation methods using metal cans and a treasure hunt to identify local plants and ancient fishing techniques. Maritime adventures will introduce children to pearl diving, and the ‘Trade Challenge’ will teach them about bartering. Additionally, they will document their experiences in a photo album and enjoy a boat trip along Dubai Creek to learn about its historical significance.
The Etihad Museum summer camp offers a knowledge-rich journey back to 1968, exploring UAE geography, customs, and social life compared to the present day. The camp highlights significant national achievements over 52 years. Under the theme ‘The Explorer,’ activities include writing letters about their dreams for the UAE’s future, simulating the discussions that led to the Union Agreement, and participating in treasure hunts. Children will also learn cultural guiding techniques, museum tour organization, and gain insights into the museum’s history and the founding fathers' significant events from 1968 to 1972.
In the Al Fahidi Summer Camp, participants will engage in interactive workshops, constructing small models of Al Fahidi Fort, learning about various types of wells and methods of digging them in the UAE, and understanding how to overcome climate challenges. The camp also includes knot-tying techniques and various adventure-filled tasks.
The Dubai Public Library Summer Camp will be held over two weeks at Al Safa Art and Design Library, Al Rashidiya, Al Twar, Umm Suqeim, Al Mankhool, and Hatta Public Libraries. The first session runs from July 15 to 26, and the second from August 5 to 16. Under the theme ‘Our Summer is Full of Arts and Innovation,’ the camp includes interactive workshops for children aged 5 to 9, introducing them to innovative farming techniques, sustainable farm creation methods, and robot control in smart farm management. Older children, aged 9 to 14, will learn smart city building methods using recycled materials, innovative urban planning techniques, and smart system types. They will also participate in drawing and coloring murals inspired by the Smart Farm & City track, guided by artists Najat Makki, Magdy Al Kafrawi, and Rabab Tantawi.
As part of the Innovative Projects Village track, participants will create products influenced by different cultures worldwide, explore logo design and color selection, examine traditional and modern products through images and storytelling, and learn Shark Tank entrepreneurship strategies. They will also delve into product development, pricing, marketing, and creating advertising campaigns.
On the final day of each camp session, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the Art Projects Expo, where a specialized jury will evaluate and select the winners. Additionally, Al Safa Art and Design Library will host the Second-Hand Book Fair throughout the camp period, offering a valuable collection of used books at nominal prices to spread knowledge and encourage reading among the next generation.
The Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children will also host a summer camp in two sessions from July 8 to 19 and August 5 to 16. This camp features creative workshops for children aged 4 to 9, focusing on ceramics, including wheel and glazing techniques, and exploring various musical instruments. Other activities include photography and cinematography techniques, dance and puppet theatre design, and clay animation creation. Participants will also create large-scale sand paintings, craft jellyfish sculptures from plastic bags, explore the history of pearl diving in the UAE, and create artworks inspired by marine life.
All camp activities will be conducted in both Arabic and English, supervised by a team of specialists and experts, ensuring a safe environment that encourages children to develop their skills.
