Following the UAE's record-breaking rainfall, thousands of aviation sector employees united to restore operations and aid guests at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Now, after grappling with the aftermath of the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, Dubai Airports is back to full operational capacity, resuming its normal flight schedules.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has successfully resumed its regular flight schedules, managing approximately 1,400 flight movements daily, as confirmed by Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports. Remarkably, roads surrounding the airports are now completely clear of water accumulation, facilitating smooth access for passengers and airport personnel.

Griffiths expressed gratitude for the collective effort that enabled the airports' swift recovery, stating, "Our manpower, logistics, and facilities are operating as usual again." He highlighted the extensive challenges faced during the disruptive weather event, including the cancellation of 2,155 flights and the diversion of 115 others. Collaboration with airline partners and service providers was paramount in reworking schedules, bolstering manpower, and ensuring the well-being of affected travelers.
The CEO commended the dedication of Dubai Airports employees, airline partners, government agencies, commercial partners, and service providers in overcoming the adversity. He emphasized that the recent weather event posed the most significant operational challenge to date, yet the collective efforts of all involved ensured the continued operation of the airports and the provision of assistance to affected guests.
