A Delta Air Lines plane hit the runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Sunday night while trying to go around for another landing, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said. The incident happened at 10:10 p.m. EDT when the left wing of the plane touched the runway.
The plane was Endeavor Air Flight 4814, flying for Delta Air Lines. The FAA said the pilot had to go around because the plane’s approach was not steady. During this move, the wing hit the runway. The FAA said it will check what caused the incident and look at the flight steps.

The plane had taken off from Jacksonville, Florida, and was flying to New York. There were 76 passengers and four crew members on board. Delta said the crew followed safety rules and went around safely.
After the go-around, the plane landed without trouble and reached its gate safely. Everyone got off the plane without harm. No one was injured, and the airline said the landing was handled properly.
The FAA will now investigate the case to understand what went wrong and check if all flight rules were followed.
