Explosion Targets Jewish School Wall in Amsterdam

An overnight explosion damaged the exterior wall of a Jewish school in Amsterdam, but no injuries were reported, authorities confirmed on Saturday.

Mayor Femke Halsema strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a “cowardly act of aggression.” She said the blast targeted the outer wall of the school and occurred during the night when no one was present inside the building.

Police said they have obtained CCTV footage that shows a suspect placing an explosive device near the wall before the blast. Investigators are currently reviewing the footage as part of an ongoing investigation to identify and arrest the person responsible.

The incident comes amid growing concern after similar nighttime attacks earlier this week outside synagogues in Liège and Rotterdam. Authorities are examining whether the incidents are connected.

Security around Jewish institutions in the region is expected to be reviewed as investigations continue. Police have urged anyone with information about the Amsterdam explosion to come forward.
