Just two months into 2025, the year has already seen its fair share of controversies. This time, actress Blake Lively is at the center of the storm. An assistant director who worked on the 2018 film A Simple Favor has come forward with claims about her difficult experience working with the star.

The allegations came to light when actor Henry Golding posted a promotional poster for the upcoming sequel, Another Simple Favor. In the comment section, a user named "Barbwiretv," later identified as Barbara Szeman shared a surprising message. Barbara claimed she had worked on the first movie, a fact supported by her IMDb page. In her comment, she wrote, "My experience with everyone was amazing, except for a certain someone who is the reason I quit being an AD. Guess who that person is... I wish you all the best with this though."
Although her comment was later deleted, it sparked widespread discussion. Barbara followed up with another comment, also deleted since then, where she thanked people for their support. She said she didn't want too much attention but stood by her claims. "I want to avoid attention around this, but I will say she was cruel to many. I know I cried my way home many nights because you try so hard to please someone who is never pleased and puts you down constantly," she explained.
Barbara also mentioned that she believed Blake Lively's current legal troubles were "karma." She wrote, "I can't believe it's getting back at her. Karma is real."
For context, Lively is currently in a legal dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. The actress has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, while Baldoni has denied the claims and filed a countersuit. He even created a website detailing the timeline of events.
Barbara later posted on her Facebook, "Last time I leave a comment on an Instagram post." As of now, her Instagram and Facebook accounts have been deactivated.
The situation has left fans divided, with some expressing support for Szeman and others defending Lively. It remains unclear if Lively will address these new claims. As the days go by, more details about the legal case and Szeman's allegations may come to light.
