At the Grammy Awards, Beyonce won the Best Country Album award for her album *Cowboy Carter*, which is her first country music album. Beyonce said she was surprised to win and didn’t expect it, especially since her album wasn’t even nominated for the Country Music Awards earlier in the year.

She said, "I really wasn’t expecting this," after receiving the award from Taylor Swift. "I want to thank God that I can still do what I love after so many years." Even though her album *Cowboy Carter* was up for Album of the Year, Beyonce has never won that award, even though she has 32 Grammy wins, more than any other artist.
This year, the Grammy ceremony was special because it also helped raise money for people affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles. The fires killed 29 people and caused many others to lose their homes, including musicians. The fires were mostly controlled before the show, but the damage was still fresh.
The Grammy show started with an all-star performance of the song *I Love LA*, featuring the band Dawes and singers like John Legend, Brad Paisley, St. Vincent, and Brittany Howard. The host, Trevor Noah, said, "Tonight, we are not just celebrating music. We are also celebrating the city that gave us so much of that music."
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, who are from Los Angeles, also performed their song *Birds of a Feather* and shared their love for LA. Billie Eilish said, "I love you, LA," from the stage.
Sabrina Carpenter also won her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album *Short n' Sweet*. After singing her songs *Please Please Please* and *Espresso* on a set inspired by old Hollywood, she was emotional while accepting her award. "I’m still out of breath from that performance," she said. "This is my first Grammy, so I’m going to cry."
Another winner was Doechii, who won Best Rap Album for *Alligator Bites Never Heal*. She encouraged young Black women and girls by saying, "Anything is possible. Don’t let anyone put stereotypes on you."
The Grammy winners are chosen by 13,000 people who work in music, such as singers, songwriters, and producers. The night was not just about celebrating music, but also about helping the people of Los Angeles after the wildfires.
